Position Summary
Sky Research has an immediate opening for a Software Engineer II to work with our SkySAR synthetic aperture radar (SAR) development team. The candidate will be responsible for software development on Sky Research’s airborne radar systems and airborne and ground-based image processing systems. The selected candidate will be part of a small, highly-specialized team based in Palo Alto, CA. Some projects may require participation on teams based in our Ashland, OR, or Hanover, NH, offices. Sky Research’s founders have provided over 30 years aviation and technical expertise in environmental characterization and research project management to federal and commercial clients both domestic and international. Sky Research is focused on environmental remediation including the assessment and detection of unexploded ordnance (UXO) at active and formerly used military sites. Offices are located in; Ashland, OR, Centennial, CO, Hanover, NH, and Boston, MA, Vancouver, BC.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The candidate will be involved in software development for a variety of applications, including:

• Data acquisition systems for radar and other sensors
• Data processing
• Image and data analysis
• System and network administration
• Project planning, documentation, and reporting.

Education and Experience Requirements
Preferred however, not required

• Detailed understanding of Signal Processing, Image Processing and Statistics.
• Experience developing real-time data acquisition systems.
• Experience with GPU and CUDA development
• Knowledge and experience with radar systems
• Interest in traveling on system demonstration and testing projects

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements

• BS or MS in Computer Engineering or similar area.
• At least 2-5 years experience with software planning and development.
• Experience with C++, Java, and MATLAB.
• Familiarity with parallel architectures, GUI and database development.
• Networking, system administration, and maintenance.
• Well developed verbal and written communication skills.
• Preparation of high quality technical specifications, manuals, and project reports.
• United States Citizenship
