What is Wide Area Assessment

Sky Research created a methodology to reduce the Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) remediation footprint which has become known as Wide Area Assessment (WAA). 

WAA employs a vertically-integrated suite of UXO characterization technologies, from high-airborne sensors deployed on fixed-wing aircraft (using LiDAR, Orthophotography, Hyperspectral Imaging, Synthetic Aperture Radar), and low-altitude helicopter-mounted magnetometers (HeliMag), to ground-based digital geophysical mapping systems. This process provides site wide delineation of UXO-contaminated and UXO-clear areas in support of efficient and effective clearance.
